Bad times for the ready-to-wear retail sector in downtown Lyon. After the closure of the Lejaby lingerie store, it is the turn of the two Scotch & Soda ready-to-wear stores to throw in the towel. Taken over in May 2023 by the Belgian group Alain Broekaert, the French subsidiary of the Dutch brand Scotch & Soda (24 stores in France) was placed in receivership in November 2023. Six months later, in the absence of a buyer, the Paris commercial court declared compulsory liquidation. Also in turmoil, the Lejaby brand is reorganizing to bounce back. And is selling off the Lyon store, which was not profitable. “We are trying to save the one in Paris and we are reorganizing the company in Rillieux,” Guy Chifflot, former head of the Orapi group, told our colleague Le Progrès. Maison Lejaby was taken over last May by the Franco-Indonesian investor duo, composed of the French GC Consult (35% of the capital) and the Indonesian group Mirae.
