Lyme disease: Stéphanie Lavoie’s distress has been heard

The cry of distress launched by Stéphanie Lavoie, heavily affected by Lyme disease, was heard. The Ministry of Health has confirmed that the young woman from Dolbeau-Mistassini will have access to one of the specialized clinics for long COVID and Lyme disease.

A few hours following hearing Stéphanie Lavoie’s call for help on TVA, the office of Health Minister Christian Dubé reacted: “We are very sensitive to the situation reported, as well as to that of all patients living with Lyme disease. Our priority remains that all patients have access to the health care they deserve and need. It is for this reason that with the Ministry of Health we have taken the situation very seriously so that we can communicate with the family of the patient quickly and that she can receive the necessary services.

Stephanie’s sister, Cathy Lavoie, said she was relieved Thursday followingnoon on LCN.

“It is a great relief, we welcome the news with great joy. It’s really positive in this very difficult situation.”
