Interior designer Julie Asselin, who knows Florida well having spent several winters there, gives us access to splendid homes in this American state in her series Luxury in the sun.
She invites us to watch the first season, which will be presented at CASA starting Thursday, November 9, at 9 p.m.
“We wanted to give viewers the opportunity to see sumptuous settings. The goal is to inspire, make people dream and take people on a journey,” said Ms. Asselin, who is also a decorator and stylist.

She herself, on the show, is impressed and can’t believe she has access to so many magnificent palaces thanks to all the designers and all the Florida real estate brokers she knows. This is the case of Pierre Couture, Carmen N. D’Angelo, Sophie Ghedin, Frank Herz, Mélanie Kimpton and Marco Laterreur, who help the team open doors, like those of the Porsche tower and the designer’s home Tommy Hilfiger.
“There are a lot of houses belonging to Quebecers in the series, but we don’t name them,” revealed Ms. Asselin in an interview with the QMI Agency, saying she herself had “experienced the lives of rich and famous people” at another time. “I lived in the West Palm Beach area for 10 years and 10 years in the Boca Raton area.”

Julie Asselin was a regular at the chic The St-Regis Bal Harbor hotel, where she takes us to Luxury in the sun. She also stops by the Palm Beach Show, where works of art, jewelry and antiques rub shoulders. The designer experiences strong emotions by slipping a 100-carat diamond on her finger worth the modest sum of US$20 million.
“I did the series because I like to share happiness and great things,” added the woman who founded the magazine Receive at TVA Publications.
Porsche Tower and Tommy Hilfiger Palace
During the 13 episodes produced by Zone3, in collaboration with Quebecor Content, the friendly host takes us on a tour of, among other things, a penthouse in the Porsche tower, where 22 billionaires have taken up residence. These people with deep pockets can admire their Rolls-Royce, their Ferrari or their Lamborghini from their unit thanks to huge windows which overlook a garage adjoining their unit, following a freight elevator has lifted their gleaming cars to their floor.
In the first episodes, we also visit the home of fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger on the island of Palm Beach, where nothing has been left to chance by its famous owner.
We’re talking regarding properties worth a small fortune, up to CA$55 million.

Each episode directed by Félix Trépanier includes pop music reminiscent of the recipe for Selling Sunset. However, there is no drama In Luxury in the sun, unlike the Netflix show.
Julie Asselin would like to do other seasons in places “where there is sunshine, because it is good for the soul”. She notably mentioned other sectors of Florida and even California.
Next January she will launch her own company, Luxe Julie Asselin Design. She will first offer lighting fixtures and promises that they will not be overpriced despite their luxurious finish. She teamed up with Marco Laterreur, who we see in the series.
