Luxury Million Apartment in London’s Whiteley: Designed by Joyce Wang Studio

London boasts an impressive array of high-end residential developments, notable among them is the Whiteley London, which features 139 distinct residences catering to those desiring an opulent lifestyle. This past winter, the Queensway location—once a bustling department store known as Whiteleys—introduced a remarkable $16 million apartment designed by the acclaimed New York designer Kelly Behun. In an exciting turn of events, another luxurious unit is now set to enter the market; this time, crafted by the prestigious design firm Joyce Wang Studio.

The latest apartment, priced at a staggering $22 million, showcases Regent’s sophisticated design sensibilities, made possible through a collaboration with the development managers Finchatton alongside investment partners MARK and C C Land. Under the artistic direction of Wang and her talented team, renowned for their work on other luxury venues including the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park and the Berkeley, this exquisite third-floor residence honors the legacy of the 1911 department store that once occupied the site, featuring a curated selection of globally sourced furnishings that pay tribute to its original founder, William Whiteley.

Inside, the four-bedroom sanctuary boasts herringbone wooden floors that contrast beautifully against smooth beige walls, accentuated by lofty double-height ceilings and elegant marble-clad details visible throughout the living area and kitchen. The main living space presents a stylish sitting area illuminated by light cascading through tall arched doorways leading to an inviting balcony, accompanied by a spacious dining area capable of hosting up to ten guests. Thoughtfully selected modern wall sconces and breathtaking chandeliers from London’s Porta Romana enhance the ambiance, drawing attention to striking features such as the kitchen’s lavish marble island and the unique turquoise green carpeting that welcomes visitors upon entry.

The tranquility of nature permeates the primary bedroom, where a striking green suede headboard creates a focal point between intentionally placed bedside tables. Doors framed in chic black swing open to reveal a private balcony, while just steps away, homeowners can indulge in the opulent primary bathroom adorned with a stunning veined stone wall. A thoughtfully carved space above the free-standing tub is dedicated to displaying essential toiletries. Additionally, the apartment features a cozy den, complete with a desk and plush seating arrangements, which harmoniously coexist with a distinctive sculpture. Among the curated decorations, homeowners will find commissioned art pieces by notable artist Armando Mesias, alongside vintage antiques and exquisite rugs sourced from 1stDibs and Milan’s esteemed CC Tapis.

“It was a true honor, and a rare opportunity, to be given both a blank slate and carte blanche for this project at the Whiteley,” Wang stated, reflecting on the creative process. “The quietly luxurious and grand space we have crafted is layered with custom pieces spanning eras and continents.”

Residents of the Whiteley enjoy exclusive access to the luxurious Six Senses Place, a social retreat that encompasses the brand’s flagship spa and an array of world-class amenities including a cutting-edge fitness studio, serene steam room, an indoor Padel court, and an impressive 65-foot swimming pool. The property’s enviable location also positions residents within a short walking distance from the lush expanses of Hyde Park, where vibrant art, eye-catching murals, and a plethora of world-class restaurants and bars await exploration.
