O Luna Display reached its version 5.3 and now has features such as connections peer-to-peer (P2P) e via USB cable (between two Macs), plus performance improvements.

In order to work around problems that can be caused by a Wi-Fi connection, the peer-to-peer lets you connect iPad to Mac wirelessly bypassing the router. The feature promises to reduce latency and deliver faster and smoother performance to users.

Available exclusively for connection between iPads and Macs — Apple limits implementation peer-to-peer to branded devices — the feature requires an iPad with at least iPadOS 13 and a Mac with macOS Catalina 10.5 or higher to work.

As for the connection between Macs via USB cable, it is now possible to use a Mac as a second screen using the good old traditional USB cables — which is a good choice if your computer does not have an Ethernet connection, for example.

Working with both USB-C/USB-C and USB-C/USB-A cables, the feature needs both Macs to be running at least macOS Catalina 10.13 — which means you’ll be able to connect even some 2012 models by this method.

Finally, Luna Display 5.3 also has a Liquid Engine 30% faster — which provides better performance in all types of connections made (such as network cable or Wi-Fi).

O Luna Display it costs $48 for its versions for older Macs (Mini DisplayPort) and Windows PCs (HDMI) or $96 for its USB-C version — which can be used on both PCs and more modern Macs.
