Lulu Sun vs Emma Raducanu – Wimbledon 2024: Live scores, order of play and news as former US Open champion eyes second week in SW19 after withdrawing from mixed doubles with Andy Murray

Lulu Sun has the adventure of a lifetime as she shines in her Wimbledon main draw debut.

The 23-year-old, who remains in the shadows with less than 5,000 followers on Instagram, advanced to the fourth round with victories over Miriam Bulgaru, Gabriela Knutson, Alexandra Eala, Qinwen Zheng, Yuliia Starodubtseva and Lin Zhu.

Sun was born in Te Anau, an incredibly small town on New Zealand’s South Island, and dreamed of becoming a tennis star.

“It’s a very small town, with practically more sheep and deer than people!” the Sun explained this week.

The trilingual 123rd seed, who has secured a prize of £226,000 no matter what happens now (her current prize pool is £245,000), will be hoping to spring a surprise on favourite Raducan.

Emma Raducanu knows full well that the qualifiers may have a chance to play the tournament of a lifetime.

Raducanu gained fame as the first qualifier to win a Grand Slam tournament in New York in 2021, and will be very wary of the possibility of Sun causing another upset.
