Lula also acknowledged that relations with the Venezuelan leader have deteriorated as a result of the worsening political situation in Venezuela.
It should be remembered that Maduro was proclaimed by the CNE for a third consecutive term, a result that was rejected by the opposition in its majority and that has also been questioned by various foreign governments and even by international monitoring groups.
