Lula should visit Huawei factory on trip to China

In addition to signing a series of technological agreements with China, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva should visit a Huawei research center on his way through Shanghai.

The president’s agenda was released this week, and the invitation came from the Chinese manufacturer itself. Lula’s visit to Huawei also provides for the signing of an agreement for the development of a partnership in the field of monitoring technology.

The terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but new information should be released during the visit of the president and delegation to the Asian country.

Another technological pact to be signed with China provides for the construction of a satellite to help monitor deforestation in the Amazon.

The businessmen who make up President Lula’s entourage should also visit other technology companies in China. They must go through Alibaba, ByteDance (owner of TikTok), Tuspark and also Kwai.

This extensive agenda of the Brazilian president for China has generated discomfort in the United States, since Huawei is one of the companies that is on Washington’s sanctions list.

ByteDance, on the other hand, faces a long battle to not see TikTok banned on US soil.

It should be remembered that measures taken by the Bolsonaro government allow Huawei to sell 5G equipment to Brazilian operators, but the manufacturer cannot operate in the federal government’s 5G network.

The visit of the Brazilian delegation also foresees the signing of ten memorandums of understanding, in the areas of agriculture, tourism and the environment, something that has aroused a certain discomfort in American diplomacy.
