EGokulam Kerala FC is on the cusp of winning the title in Indian football. In the five years since the club’s formation, Gokul has won the Durant Cup, two I – League titles, two Kerala Premier League titles, the Indian Women’s League title and the Kerala Women’s League title.
Gokul, who also became the first team to retain an I-League title, is a Slovenian player. Slovenian striker Luka Mayson has been added to the squad by coach Vicenzo Alberto Annisse, who has previously been linked with a move to Trinidad and Tobago’s Marcus Joseph, who previously shone for the Durant Cup.
This time Marcus Joseph is the top scorer in the league with 15 goals, while Luka is in second place with 13 goals. There is also a hat-trick of the season in the name of Luke, who has become the spearhead of Gokul. Of the 44 goals Gokul has scored this season, 13 are in Luke’s name.
Luke was born on July 25, 1989, when Slovenia was part of Yugoslavia. Luca joins professional football through Slovenian football club Interlock. He remained at Interlock from 2008 to 2011, scoring 11 goals in 74 games. Later he tied the knot for various Slovenian clubs such as Liver, Rudar Velenye, Copper, Triglav Rany and Gorica.
Later in 2020, Luka will come to India through Churchill Brothers. He scored 11 goals in 15 games for Churchill in the 2020-21 season. He later played for Bangalore United in the I-League Second Division. Luke will finally be part of Gokul in January 2022. Gokulam started the match once morest Real Kashmir on March 7 with a hat-trick in Gokulam’s 6-2 win over Kenkre FC.
Luke is also the most capped player of the season for Gokul (5).
