Oleksandr Lukashenko spoke regarding the preparation of Belarus for war during a working trip to the city of Grodno near the border with Poland. it is said in a statement from his press service.
“We are preparing for war, I speak frankly regarding it. “If you want peace, prepare for war” – I did not come up with it. This is very correctly said,” Lukashenko said, adding that the country does not want war.
However, according to him, the necessary training of the relevant units continues in Belarus, various types of weapons and equipment are supplied to the troops.
At the same time, Lukashenko declared that he “does not want someone else’s land” because, sooner or later, it “will turn into a disaster.”
Addressing the residents of Grodno, which is located on the western border of the country, Lukashenko said: “You are ours. We will not hand you over to anyone,” he complained that neighboring countries made it difficult for Belarusians to cross the border.
“Now they have closed themselves off from us with a fence. You see that it’s not my fault, it’s their policy,” Lukashenka was quoted as saying by his press service.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Belarus announced the beginning of checking the combat readiness of units and military units in the country’s Armed Forces.
