Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis voted players of the week

Like every Monday evening, the NBA unveils its awards for the best players of the past week. The lucky ones? Kristaps Porzingis in the East and – unbelievably surprisingly – Luka Doncic in the West.

Yeah we know, irony is our forte. The choice of Luka obviously flows from source as Doncic has turned the basketball planet upside down at the end of 2022. Already voted player of the week last Monday, the Dallas phenomenon achieves the double following his historic match once morest the Knicks (60 points, 21 rebounds, 10 assists) and his card once morest the Spurs (51 points, 9 assists) on New Year’s Eve. His averages over the week? They come straight out of NBA 2K’s MyCareer mode (at rookie level, huh): 48.7 points, 13 rebounds, 10.7 assists, 2.3 steals, 1.3 once morest at almost 62% success including 48% at 3-pointers. We are on an absolutely all-time production and with that, the Luka Mavericks chain the victories with now six successes in a row.

In the Eastern Conference, it is another European – also undefeated – who takes the lead, namely Kristaps Porzingis. While Bradley Beal continues to squat the infirmary, the Latvian interior of the Wizards has dropped a great week to maintain the excellent dynamic of Washington: 24.5 points (lol it’s twice less than Luka), 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, 1.5 steals, all at 56% in shooting (36.4% at 3-pointers) and 86% in free throws. The franchise of the capital is now on a series of five successes in a row, a series largely unexpected when we know that the Sorcerers remained on 11 defeats in 12 games in December…

Among the other nominees in the West were notably LeBron James, Nikola Jokic and Ja Morant, while in the East Giannis, Jaylen Brown, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and Tyrese Haliburton also had solid, even very solid.
