Luis Eduardo Martínez, presidential candidate for Acción Democrática, Copei and other political parties, toured the 10 municipalities of Margarita Island, Nueva Esparta state, with a caravan to invite people to vote on July 28.

Martinez highlighted the damage caused by sanctions and the blockade and called for justice for the theft of the Citgo company and other Venezuelan assets abroad.

“Foreign economic sanctions have been seriously damaging to Venezuela and have been a crime once morest the people. We demand that they be lifted, that they be lifted immediately. Those responsible for Cigto, for Monómeros, for so many assets that are seized abroad, a good part of them are here, in Venezuela. We hope that following July 28, justice will be done, that all those responsible for the assets, the infinite wealth of Venezuela, being held abroad will be severely punished.”

Through the vote

The candidate for the white party also rejected calls for violence and emphasized that the only way to resolve differences is through voting.

“I repeat, vote, vote, vote, because it is the way that we, Venezuelans, have to settle our differences. We must vote and we must have confidence in the governing body. We have participated in the audits, in the review of the processes, and today we are absolutely convinced that the vote that comes in will be counted as such. We must trust and we must vote,” said the candidate for the Presidency of the Republic.

Martínez stressed that the people must trust the Venezuelan electoral system and vote on July 28.
