The Boeing 747-400 with the registration D-ABVW didn’t really get very far on Monday (8 August). Actually, she should bring the travelers and crew from Frankfurt am Main to Boston. At 2:14 p.m. it took off with a delay of around three quarters of an hour. But even before the Lufthansa plane arrived across the English Channel, it turned around, circled a bit and landed back in Frankfurt just over an hour after take-off.

The reason, according to a Lufthansa spokesman for aeroTELEGRAPH: A “technical complaint”. It was about the water supply. If this is not guaranteed for a long-haul flight, it can become uncomfortable. The plane landed back in Frankfurt at 3:25 p.m. The problem was apparently solved there, because at 5:27 p.m. the D-ABVW set off again for Boston. There she landed at 18:25, three hours after the scheduled arrival.
