Lucy de Cyberpunk: Edgerunners se une al roster de Guilty Gear Strive

As with every year, EVO brings with it a wide variety of announcements related to the most played and most anticipated fighting games on the market. For the 2024 edition, Arc System Works has announced that Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will arrive in 2025 in Guilty Gear Strive as a playable character.

While the 2.5D fighting game’s fourth Season Pass trailer is now available, it didn’t show Lucy’s gameplay. Watch it below:

Among the content coming in the game’s new Season Pass are 4 new fighters, including Guilty Gear X veteran Dizzy, who is currently scheduled for October. Venom, who also first appeared in Guilty Gear X, is scheduled for next year, as is Unike, a new character.

A new 3 vs. 3 game mode and gameplay balances will also be coming.

But… Who is Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners?

In September 2021, Netflix released the anime called Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, a kind of spin-off that is part of the universe of CD Projekt Red’s controversial open-world RPG. The show was so successful and popular that sales of Cyberpunk 2077 increased significantly.

Speaking at the time of the show’s launch, CD Projekt CFO Piotr Nielubowicz said that “the popularity of the anime series, coupled with the positive reception of the update, visibly impacted Cyberpunk’s unit sales.”

CD Projekt Red’s country manager for Japan, Satoru Honma, said in 2022 that there were no plans to continue the story of Cyberpunk Edgerunners, which was co-developed by the game studio and Japanese animation firm Studio Trigger.
