RP Sanjeev Goenka Group’s campaign in Lucknow to find out the name of Lucknow

New Delhi: The Lucknow franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be renamed as the Lucknow Super Giants. Owner Sanjeev Goenka made the announcement.

RP Sanjeev Goenka had campaigned among the fans to find out the name of the Lucknow-owned group. After announcing the name, Sanjay Goenka thanked all the fans.

Last year, the RPSG group acquired the Lucknow team for Rs 7,090 crore. Another new team is Ahmedabad, which was acquired by Irelia Company Pvt Ltd (CVC Capital Partners) for Rs 5,635 crore.

On January 21, K. L. Rahul (Rs 17 crore), Marcus Stones (Rs 9.2 crore) and Ravi Bishnoi (Rs 4 crore) were acquired by Lucknow. Ahmedabad have added Hardik Pandya and Rashid Khan for Rs 15 crore and Shubhman Gill for Rs 7 crore.

It is learned that the mega star auction will be held on February 12,13. The new IPL season will start in the last week of March.
