With its agreement with Aston Martin, Lucid has started a new activity. Other manufacturers could soon also benefit from the know-how of the Californian start-up.
The agreement with Aston Martin will therefore see Lucid supply motors, batteries and power electronics to its new partner. Components that will be produced in its factory located in Casa Grande, Arizona. Remember that with its 3 engines, the Lucid Air Sapphire aligns 895 kW / 1217 hp. More than enough to satisfy the needs of a sportswoman.
It is therefore a completely new activity. Indeed, the small manufacturer had never previously sold its technologies to other brands. And this new agreement, which would weigh nearly 450 million dollars, could open the door to others. Because Lucid intends to develop this activity of supplying components, in parallel with the sale of vehicles. Lucid is eyeing the more common makes and models in particular.
Lucid does not intend to enter the race for volumes by developing its own mass distribution model. But its technologies, resized, could very well adapt to less exclusive vehicles than its own Air sedan, or the future electric Aston Martins. No names were of course mentioned, since at this stage, any discussion remains confidential.
