Holder once morest Lorient (0-0) for his first official match with PSG, Lucas Hernandez received a funny welcome from the Parisian ultras. Some fans can’t forgive him for being born in Marseille.

First there was this message from the president of the Collectif Ultras Paris (CUP) at the end of June, when the track was becoming more and more concrete: “You are not welcome, the Marseillais… and we will let you know”, wrote Romain Mabille on Instagram. This Saturday evening during PSG-Lorient (0-0) in Ligue 1.

Born in Marseille – which some of the Parisian ultras do not digest – Lucas Hernandez was the subject of a CUP banner at the Parc des Princes: “We all make mistakes, being born in Marseille is one of them.”

“I was born in Marseille, it’s true, but I can’t help it”

Obviously all is not yet forgiven for everyone, even if Lucas Hernandez himself returned to this controversy in an interview with the Team at the end of July and on his comments concerning PSG in the past: “It does not not pleasure. Afterwards, I understand people perfectly, estimated the 27-year-old defender since the PSG internship in Japan. I am young and I had awkward remarks regarding OM and the fact that I would never play at PSG. […] I was born in Marseille, it’s true, but I can’t help it. I never lived in Marseille, my only memory is when I beat OM with Atlético de Madrid in the Europa League final. Otherwise, I have nothing that connects me to the city, none of my family lives there.”
