“Every mother-in-law’s dream”
Both made their beginnings with “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”, now they are collaborating for a song. Despite spirited dances, the partners of Luca Hänni and Sarah Engels do not have to be jealous.

“There was no jealousy, our partners were both there during the shoot. We had a lot of fun together », Luca Hänni clarifies in an interview with Blick. He has known Sarah Engels since he took part in “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” in 2012. He won his season, she finished second a year earlier behind Pietro Lombardi (30) – with whom she has son Alessio (7). “When I wrote the song, I saw it as a duet. And since Sarah’s voice fits perfectly, I asked her if she wanted to take part. »
«More fun than work»
Sarah Engels didn’t have to think twice. “It felt more like fun with friends than work,” she explains. Just a year ago, the musician took the Swiss to “Do you understand fun?” on the shovel. A promotional casting was manipulated in such a way that the singer always had an advantage. Even then, the two got along great. Hänni has her heart in the right place, is incredibly likeable and always positive, says Engels. “He’s every mother-in-law’s dream,” she adds with a laugh.
The two also run privately like clockwork. Luca Hänni is engaged to professional dancer Christina Luft, Sarah Engels is married to ex-soccer player Julian Engels (29) and gave birth to their second child in December 2021. Hänni: “I think it’s impressive how she can reconcile that with two children and a demanding job.”
Luca will be a good role model
Luca Hänni has already stated that he wants to become a dad one day. Engels: “I can say for me that the best thing is when you manage to spend a lot of time with your family despite a lot of performances and work, but I’m not worried at all with Luca and Christina.” Luca Hänni will be a good role model for his child.
