Luca Ekler is fifth in the 100 meters
The Hungarian competitor started as the defending World Cup champion in this issue, but after his preliminary race he reminded that in May, when he won the World Cup in Kobe, nobody was really in shape at the beginning of the season, moreover, several people – including the British world record holder Sophie Hahn – were missing from it. from the field. He believed that he could be third at best, but that he would probably have to run a personal best.
In the morning heat, he finished third with 12.63 seconds, and achieved the fourth best time overall.
In the evening finale, he ran on pitch eight in front of the full stands of the Stade de France. Several others started better than him, but he managed to catch up, among other things, he overtook Hahn, who was running next to him on the seventh course. At the same time, two Colombian and one Greek sprinters were the fastest: in the end Karen Tatiana Palomeque Moreno won, who carved 12 centuries from the world record. Ekler – who will appear later in the long jump and the 400 meters in his main event – finished fifth with 12.78 seconds.
The 25-year-old TFSE athlete was fourth in this number three years ago, at the Tokyo Paralympics.
“Unfortunately, it didn’t go so well for me. You have to look back on how it was, but it’s usually weaker for me,” he told M4 Sport after his race, adding that he managed to go with Sophie Hahn. She was surprised that she succeeded, but also that the Australian Rhiannon Clarke kept pace with them on the other side of her, and was even a little ahead, which perhaps threw her out of her rhythm a little in the last thirty or forty meters.
Luca Ekler said that he is over one of his most difficult tasks, he is looking forward to the long jump, which he can confidently tackle.
