The First Lady of the Republic Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi has been staying since last Sunday in Lualaba Province. As in all her visits to the interior of the country, the President of the DNT Foundation capitalized on her stay in the mining town to raise awareness among the students of the Province in General and secondary school finalists in particular on the Excelia Scholarship.
As the Province does not yet have scholarship holders in this program, the President of the DNT Foundation encouraged them to give their best in order to hope to be part of the great Excellentia family.
After raising awareness of the Excellentia program, the Foundation also made students aware of sickle cell anemia or SS anemia by encouraging them to take the hemoglobin electrophoresis test.
The DNT Foundation has set up a device at the Muangeji referral hospital to facilitate this test in Kolwezi.
The Head of State’s wife also went to meet the students of Mwanga and Juhudi high school where she gave them sewing equipment and laboratory kits for practical exercises.
At the Mwangeji General Reference Hospital, three (3) general reference hospitals and four (4) reference health centers have benefited from kits for the operating theatre, maternity ward, lots of essential drugs, beds and mattresses. These are the general hospitals of MWANGEJI, MUPANDJA, KANZENZE, the reference health centers of KAPATA, KASULO, MANIKA AND KANINA.
Before completing her rounds, the Spouse of the Head of State laid the first stone for the construction of auditoriums and a modern university clinic at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Kolwezi.
