The Judge of Control, Minors and Misdemeanors of Carlos Paz, Daniel Strasorier, held that “Lowering the age of criminal responsibility does not solve anything.” On the contrary, the magistrate specified that “it exacerbates it, it is nonsense. Besides, all the international treaties to which Argentina subscribed and the UN recommendations go in another directionin the sense of restorative justice and the claim of the socio-educational model for the recovery of the young”.

Strasorier was in charge of the violent mass attack on a business in Villa Carlos Paz. Five minors participated in the event, which occurred in the early hours of last Wednesday and damaged a kiosk in that city, two of whom were punishable and were arrested and housed in the Esperanza Complex.

According to the Judge, there are two phenomena that go through childhoods and adolescents who commit crimes. “On the one hand, poverty, marginality, exclusion, not having a way out, the few possibilities of becoming a productive subject, makes this state of disappointment lead him to violate the Penal Law”, he explained.

However, for Strasorier none of these reasons motivated the alleged looting of the previous week. “This situation is different, I have reasonable suspicions that it was not spontaneous, that it was organized, encouraged by the social crisis,” held.

And he added: “Adolescents do not commit these crimes with these characteristics. Piranha robberies have been seen, but not with as much violence as the one in question of Carlos Paz, ”he said in ‘Con el diario del lunes’.
