As previously announced, fuel prices have been lowered this Saturday, October 1st. Overall, the price of diesel has fallen by 98 cents, according to data collected by Le360 with the National Federation of Owners, Traders and Managers of Service Stations in Morocco (FNPCGS). The price of a liter of gasoline, meanwhile, fell between 0.70 dirham and 0.72 dirham.

In detail, the price of diesel displayed this morning in Casablanca is 13.92 dirhams at Afriquia and 13.98 at Winxo. The price of gasoline reached, meanwhile, respectively 13.06 dirhams and 14.05 dirhams for the two operators.

Due to inventory management, other distributors have not yet lowered their prices, but should do so soon. It should also be noted that the price of fuel at service stations in other cities of the Kingdom is even higher, due to the cost of transport.

This new drop in prices at the pump follows the decline in oil prices on the international market in recent weeks. This Saturday, October 1, a barrel of Brent from the North Sea traded at 85.56 2022 dollars and a barrel of American West Texas Intermediate (WTI) at 79.74 dollars.

Faced with soaring commodity prices and the unprecedented rise in fuel prices at the pump this year, the Competition Council published an opinion last Monday to analyze the competitive functioning of the national market.
