Lower Austrian wind farm mutated into an Advent wreath thanks to an art installation

Shortly before Christmas, four facilities were colorfully illuminated in the evening hours. The joint campaign by Ökoenergie and IG Windkraft was intended to show “that the winter wind brings a lot of clean energy for the holidays,” it was emphasized in a broadcast on Saturday.

For five hours, the gondolas and wind turbine blades glowed like candle flames, forming a kind of Advent wreath. The installed LED spotlights were operated directly with part of the electricity that the wind turbines generated at the same time. It was said that “during the campaign, 76 times more electricity came from the four systems than was needed for lighting”.
