LH Deputy Pernkopf: Austria sticks together – thank you and Gut Wehr to all fire brigade comrades

St. Polten (OTS/NLK) After eight days in the Carinthian storm areas, the Lower Austrian firefighters ended their relief mission today. Since last Friday they have been fighting side by side with their Carinthian comrades to master water masses and mudflows. The requirements of the Carinthian fire brigade association were supplemented several times and the help from Lower Austria was increased. First with seven large and submersible pumps and then with five telescopic loaders, help was provided in the crisis area. Around fifty firefighters were on duty every day.

LHS Deputy Stephan Pernkopf thanks the Florianis: “Many disaster operations in our state have already shown impressively: Lower Austria sticks together. And the severe storms of the last few weeks show: Austria sticks together. Our fire brigades support their comrades with great know-how, with experience from special operations and with the most modern equipment. It pays off that we in Lower Austria have been investing in special equipment and in the best training for the emergency services for a long time. When Austria needs our help, when regions are hit hard by disasters and people are in danger, Lower Austria and our fire brigades are ready. And it shows once once more: Solidarity is not a one-way street. Because in the forest fire operation in Hirschwang, support also came from Carinthia, Styria and other federal states. Thank you and good weir to all fire brigade comrades!
