A mainland woman quickly fell in love with an old scavenger who claimed to be a supervisor and even cut off contact with her daughter. Only to find out in the end that it was a scam, she mightn’t help crying. The police pointed out that Wei Nanyi has been arrested on suspicion of fraud.

According to a report by the Chinese media “Kankan News”, the police stated that they recently received a report from the landlord surnamed Chen, alleging that the lease of the rented house had expired, but the tenant refused to move out. Officers went to investigate and found that the tenant was a 70-year-old woman surnamed Ding. When the 80-year-old man surnamed Chen asked, he found out that Ding cut off contact with his daughter out of love and lived with Chen. However, it was a scam.

The police pointed out that following investigation, Ding was defrauded of 820,000 yuan (approximately NT$3.63 million) by Chen Nan. Chen Nan, who claimed to be 80 years old, had simply fabricated his identity. His real age was only 64 years old and his surname was Wei. He is now deceased. He authorized the arrest on suspicion of fraud.

The police revealed that Ding Nv met Wei Nan at the garbage station in the community. Wei Nan, who was picking up garbage at the time, claimed to be a supervisor and greeted Ding Nv every day, making Ding Nv, who had been single for more than 20 years, trapped in the situation. Ding Nu cried, “The other person said that I have been looking for you for 18 years. We were husband and wife in the previous life, and we will be husband and wife in the next life. I was very moved following hearing this. I never expected to meet such a person.”
