Sources told the “Al-Mashhad Al-Yemeni” website that Dr. Shawqi Hussein Al-Aoudi, his wife and their three daughters were killed in raids launched by Israeli aircraft on the residential building in which he lived in the Mezzeh neighborhood in Syria.

She explained that Al-Aoudi, who is from Ibb Governorate, works as a teacher in pharmaceutical sciences at the Syrian Private University, noting that the raid also killed Dr. Rahaf Qamhiyah from the city of Homs, who specialized in kidney diseases, and 9 others.

The Yemeni ambassador in Damascus wrote through his account on the “X” platform: “The martyrdom of Professor Dr. Shawqi Al-Aoudi, his wife, and his three daughters as a result of the treacherous aggression on the Mezzeh neighborhood. Dr. Shawqi is a professor of pharmaceutical sciences and one of the distinguished Yemeni scientific cadres. He was teaching at the Syrian Private University. May God have mercy on the deceased and all his family and make them dwell in Paradise. We belong to God and to Him we shall return.”

He said in another post: “The daughters of the martyr, Professor Dr. Shawqi Al-Aoudi, are victims of the criminal Zionist entity. What is the fault of childhood?” Targeting innocent civilians. May God have mercy on the martyr, his wife and his daughters. We are very sad for you, Dr. Shawqi.”

The official Syrian news agency, SANA, quoted a military source as saying that at around 20:15 local time, “the Israeli enemy launched an air aggression with 3 missiles from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting a residential and commercial building in the densely populated Mezzeh neighborhood in Damascus,” which led to the death of 7.
