Jean-Claude Joly, flagship farmer of the television program broadcast on M 6 “Love is in the meadow”, died at the age of 53, on the night of Friday to Saturday. He was found dead by his wife, on his farm in La Frenaye, Normandy.
Candidate emblematic of season 6 by his humor and his outspokenness, the character had won the favor of many viewers before seriously holding his image. In 2016, he was sentenced by the criminal court of Le Havre for violence once morest his companion Maud, met during his participation in the program, in 2011.
“Words fail me, but not my tears”
According to the Courrier Cauchois, Maud would have found her husband hanged in the barn of her farm. The couple had one child, born in September 2014, and Maud was a mother of three children before meeting Jean-Claude. Many Internet users paid tribute to him on social networks.
The news deeply saddened Karine Le Marchand, host of “Love is in the meadow”, who had followed the couple’s evolution on many occasions. M 6 had also filmed their engagement in 2012. And Jean-Claude had been invited to celebrate the 10th anniversary of “Love is in the meadow” in 2016, in a special.
“My Jean-Claude, words fail me, but not my tears. Thank you for giving me so much joy and affection at each of our reunions. You chose to say stop, so rest in peace. My thoughts go out to Maud and your little Charlotte,” said Karine Le Marchand on her Instagram account.
