Shergotty Meteorite – Original from 1865 | Unique in the world

This Martian meteorite fell on August 25, 1865 near Sherghati, Bihar State, India. It is now kept in the London Museum and is known as the Shergotty meteorite. It has global significance, as it represents one of three categories of Martian meteorite: Shergottite, Nakhla and Chassigny. It is also extremely rare, because of the 72,000 classified meteorites in the world, less than 300 come from Mars, of which 200 belong to the Shergottite appellation.

real peacock feather

The bottom of the dial is made using genuine peacock feather, giving it a natural iridescent effect. The peacock is the national bird of India, due to the rich traditions it evokes. For millennia, it has been considered a symbol of immortality and fertility.

The Eternal Wheel – Ashoka’s Chakra

The hand-engraved applique depicts twenty spokes of the eternal wheel of Dharma law, embodied in Ashoka’s chakra found on the flag of India. The movement suggested by the wheel is underlined by the micro-painting delicately affixed to the various spokes and in the center of the engraving.

The decorations are inspired by motifs representative of the greatness of India. The horns are highlighted with four rubies which radiate the engraving with their brilliance.

The best movement in the world

ONLY INDIA is equipped with the legendary LM-35 movement, winner of the most recent International Chronometry Competition. This rhythmic and elegant dial is complemented by a technical note: the vision of the tourbillon’s moving carriage. Inside, its sprung balance, anchor and escape wheel complete one revolution every minute. To win first prize in the International Chronometry Competition, this mechanism had to successfully undergo 4 months of testing and 150 shocks.
