Patras was visited by the beloved author Anna Galanou to present her new novel “Lives Opposite” on the subject of the abuse of women.

At the event, held on Saturday, March 30 at the “Kostis Palamas” Culture-Olympics Center (30 Palaion Patron Germanou) and co-organized the bookstore “Book Corner – Papachristou” and publications “Diopter”the audience enjoyed on the one hand the warm and friendly atmosphere and on the other hand the particularly apt suggestions of the speakers Nopis Graikouse (writer, radio producer), Elena Anastasopoulou (midwife – MSC), Basil Markou (lawyer, scientific manager of the Center for the Management of Gender Inequalities “Erifili”).

The talks were interjected, where deemed necessary, by the author, giving insights into her conversations with abused women, her research, the fiction required to weave the many true stories into six, but also to illuminate additional aspects of the subject.

The messages were heard many and loud, which naturally aroused the interest of the public, who participated vigorously.

In the event coordinated by Katerina Samsona (author-podcaster), attended by, among others, the Deputy Regional Governor for Rural Development Andreas Filias, the Deputy Mayor of Finance – Culture, Volunteering and Social Protection of the Municipality of Western Achaia Nadia Askounis, Dimitra Georgakopoulou Basta, member of the national board of the Greek Women’s Union.

At the end of the presentation and before the author signed copies of her book, Professor Dr. Theodoros Mallias, president of the Patras Fine Arts Association “Kostis Palamas”, presented her with the bilingual album “Artists Create Culture”.
