The Tyrolean literature festival “sprachsalz”, which will take place from September 8th to 10th at various locations in Hall in Tirol, has many international guests and a connection to other genres in store this year. According to the organizers, “bridges will be built between the cosmos of sound and literature”. Expected guests include Stewart O’Nan, the Swiss duo Yello, Dinçer Güçyeter, Sergio Ramírez, Wlada Kolosowa and Judith Kuckart.
The “Festival of Possibilities” will open with a concert by the new wave band Intimspray and the Peter Hein Autoquartett in the Stromboli in Hall. The Leokino in Innsbruck also shows Thomas Antonic’s documentary “one more step west is the sea”. Yello will be on stage at a total of three events, Dieter Meier will read unpublished texts and Boris Blank will invite you to a performance.
Briton Phil Shoenfelt will read from “Junkie Love,” a semi-fictional book regarding his heroin addiction that “almost took his life,” according to organizers. Abel Solares, who was born in Guatemala, devotes himself to the interdisciplinary examination of artistic forms of expression, while Dinçer Güçyeter reads from his debut novel “Our Germany Fairy Tale”. He was awarded the Leipzig Book Fair Prize for the novel. The Nicaraguan author Sergio Ramírez, the Nordic author Jan Carson and the Swiss journalist and author Peter Hossli will also be represented in Hall. All readings and talks in the Parkhotel, Kurhaus and Ablinger.Garber Media Tower are free of charge.
