Lots of chocolate cakes recalled due to overdose of additives

Notice to those who do their food shopping at Lidl. The sign proceeds since this Tuesday at reminder of three batches of “Mini cakes with nuggets of chocolat of the Sondey brand, reports Capital.

The cakes, sold by ten in boxes of 300 g, were marketed throughout France between February 16 and March 23, specifies the official site Reminder. conso.gov. The three batches (046G210, 046G211 and 046G212) have the same barcode number (04056489371885) and the same durability date, set to August 18, 2022.

Loss of taste and digestive disorders

Reason for the recall: a possible overdose of additives in cupcakes. The additive E450, or sodium diphosphate, would be present in too large a quantity and would exceed the health safety thresholds. This additive may cause a taste defect as well as digestive disorders minors.

The hard discount brand therefore recommends consumers having bought these little cakes not to eat them. They can destroy the product or bring it back to the store for a refund. The last product recall at Lidl dates back to mid-December 2021, following the marketing of mislabeled salmon, recalls Capital.
