Lot-et-Garonne: 7 children from the same school affected by viral pneumonia

Seven children attending nursery school in Lavardac in Lot-et-Garonne suffered from viral pneumonia. Three of them were hospitalized.

Their state of health has deteriorated in recent days, thus requiring treatment by the emergency services of the Agen-Nérac hospital this Sunday, according to information from The Midi Dispatch.

The other four children also have symptoms of pneumonitis.

Among the seven children concerned, one is educated in the middle section of kindergarten, two in the small section and four within the reception system for children under 3 years old, in the same establishment.

Covid-19 negatives

Ludovic Biasotto, the mayor of the commune of Lavardac, confirmed to the local media that the seven children had all tested negative for Covid-19. The latter is waiting for his instructions: “I asked the sub-prefect to tell me as soon as possible. I don’t have the power to close classes as mayor,” he told the newspaper. South West. He also claimed to have seized the Regional Health Agency in addition to the prefecture and the academy.

In the meantime, the city councilor has however taken the decision to suspend “until further notice” the reception system for children under 3 years old in nursery school.
