Lot 1 of the San Pedro Agroindustrial Corridor is approaching half of its total execution

Asunción, IP Agency.- With sustained progress on its different fronts, Lot 1 of the San Pedro Agroindustrial Corridor, in the Eastern Region, has to date registered an execution of 49.4%, that is, it is almost half of its total execution.

Currently, the main tasks of this work front consist of the installation of base embankment and subgrade subbase, in addition to the placement of asphalt base in some sectors.

This section under construction starts from Villa del Rosario to Volendam (including the accesses to Volendam and Mbopicuá port). The main route of the road is 26 km, to which another 9 km of the urban crossing within the town of Volendam is added. There, the work is carried out by the firm Enrique Edgardo Díaz Benza Cano (EDB).

A work that has 3 lots

The new corridor consists of three lots, totaling more than 99 km of roads. Lot 2 (Section 1B): Volendam – San Pablo (to the southern head of the bridge over the Jejui River that includes the improvement of access to San Pablo) has 42.87 km, and was awarded to the Ice Consortium (Empresas de Construcciones EDIVI SA-Caldetec Ingenieria SRL-Ilsung Construction CO.LTD- Suc.

Finally, the Lot 3 (Section 2): San Pablo (North Head Bridge over the Jejui River) – Route Crossing PY11, of 16.88 km, was awarded to the firm Proel Engineering of Augusto Ortellado Narváez.

This is MOPC Call No. 91/2021 “Request for offers through international public bidding from construction companies for the execution of road works to enable and maintain Agroindustrial Corridors of the Eastern Region, ID 401,919”.
