Lost Police Dog Found: The Search for Ben the Canine Hero

Significant resources have been mobilized to try to find a lost police dog. Ben had fled as he and his handler were regarding to start their day at work. The hunt lasted 2 days.

Ben is not just a police dog; he is also a full member of his handler’s family. So when the quadruped vanished, everything was done to try to bring him home safe and sound as soon as possible, reported Online Athens.

The runaway of the brave doggie from the police took place on Tuesday, July 11. Ben, 9-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer, is an experienced canine agent. Trained in the detection of explosive materials, he served, in fact, within the police department ofAtlanta in Georgia (USA) for 8 years.

That morning, he and his master were preparing to leave their home in Bogarta town located 70 kilometers east ofAtlanta, to get to work. Like every day, the police officer had opened the box for the dog to allow him to board the van. However, instead of heading towards the vehicle, Ben had decided to run away to rush into the woods and never reappear.

A drone and a helicopter deployed
