Game news Lost Ark: the MMO explodes everything on Steam, New World bows
It’s definitely THE game of the moment: the MMO Lost Ark is achieving very, very good scores. He has thus just beaten the New World record, which had already achieved feats.
Lost Ark, MMO all but lost
You must have heard of it: Lost Ark just launched on Steam last night in Early Access. Completely free, this large-scale MMO developed by Tripod Studio is already a phenomenon. While waiting to see if it will be ephemeral or not, it can already boast of achieving excellent scores on the Valve platform.
So to speak, the online action-RPG is a very, very big hit. For its simple launch, it managed to gather 983,483 players simultaneously: a peak that allows it to overtake its massively multiplayer competitor New World, spawned by Amazon and released only last November. The latter had brought together 913,483 people at the same time.
Only numbers 4 in my team
More generally, Lost Ark can boast of already being in fourth place in a privileged ranking, that of the games having gathered the most players simultaneously on Steam. It is then behind Dota 2 (1.29 million players) and Counter-Strike Global Offensive (1.3 million). On the first step of the podium and far ahead, PUBG Battlegounds and its titanic peak of 3.23 million people.
Alas, the scores of Lost Ark were more than enough to undermine its own servers with unexpected closuresbugs and a few other unfortunate surprises. An MMO victim of its success but which should quickly rectify the situation, as is customary with large productions of the genre which do not escape technical breakage, as the demand is important and complicated to manage.
