Game News Lost Ark: queues and servers saturated, players encouraged to change servers
This is one of the big weak points of Lost Ark: the queues encountered by European players who want to connect. To ease the demand, the game teams are trying to change things up by making server switching more attractive.
Summary
- New content, but not only
- Twitch rewards kept when switching servers
New content, but not only
In the stride of the teaser launched by its teams on social networks earlier this week, Lost Ark announced the upcoming content for the month of march. On the program, a new episode of the story that focuses on Kadan. This new scenario will see players go in search of Kadan, the first killer of guardians, but also that of the final Ark. Other content to come is the Argos Abyssal Raid which is making its debut: similar to Guardian Raids, Abyssals involve eight players (compared to four) and are therefore much more difficult.
On the occasion of the announcement of this new content, the developers of Smilegate and Amazon Games took the opportunity to take stock of the state of the servers. With limited capacity when the game was released on February 11, the servers were saturated and might only accommodate a limited number of players. From then on, queues of several hours were sometimes inevitable to connect to the game…
Twitch rewards kept when switching servers
An observation made by the Lost Ark teams via a long post published yesterday. If they observe a decrease in queues (probably due to recent departures fromHorizon Forbidden Westd’Elden Ring or even 9.2 of Shadowlands), she knows that these are not ideal conditions for players.
Unfortunately, we cannot increase the number of people that can be accommodated by each server. We are also unable to add servers due to the complexity of the game systems and their interactions.
For all players who have created a character on Central European servers and wish to avoid queues, the ideal is to migrate to a Western European server. A transfer for the moment unattractive, but what the developers are trying to change:
If you’re thinking of transferring your character to the Western Europe servers, but are concerned regarding losing your Twitch drops, we’re pleased to inform you that anyone who picked them up on the Central Europe servers before March 8 at 9 a.m. CET (08:00 UTC) will receive a second copy of the items they had collected.
By duplicating the rewards received on Twitch, the Lost Ark teams encourage players to change servers by guaranteeing them the preservation of some of their objects and thus relieve the servers of Central Europe. For what effects? Response in the coming weeks.
