Pompeo revealed that he started last summer with a strong personal determination to lose weight, feel better and get fitter.

“My plan is to keep doing more of the same,” he told Fox News Digital, praising his near-perfect diet for six months.

Pompeo continued: “I’ve largely stopped eating carbs, I’ve tried to eat less. I’m going to keep trying to do that. I’m not going to be as disciplined because I don’t want to lose any more weight, but right now – Give it your all, then period – I know if I go back to what I did in the past, like five or six or seven years, then my weight will go back there too.”

Pompeo, 58, said the results were his own. The remarks clarified some media reports.

“I read a lot myself, and I have my own theories regarding eating less and exercising more,” he says, “so that’s what I do.”

Pompeo’s self-discipline is well-founded, he used to be a soldier. He graduated from West Point in 1986, ranking first in his class, according to the State Department’s Office of Historians. After graduation, he was appointed an Army officer and served as a cavalry officer on the Iron Curtain patrol before the fall of the Berlin Wall; Pompeo also served in the 2nd Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, U.S. Army.

“You should eat less every day”

During the interview, Pompeo was asked if anyone had expressed concerns to him regarding his weight in the past? He replied that someone would refer to it politely, but he knew what was going on when he found out that the collar of his shirt needed to be changed to an inch larger.

Pompeo added: “My doctors, every time I go to see them, they say, ‘You really shouldlose weight. 』But I know the reality. “

“And the reality is that it really feels better and reduces health risks,” he said.

He went on to say that within three or four weeks of implementing the weight loss program, he started to feel better. Weight began to drop rapidly. Within three or four weeks, I can move more freely.

When introducing his successful weight loss experience, Pompeo said that for himself, every day is a day. You should eat a little less each day. It’s not regarding eating at any given time, it’s just staying away from bad food, he said. “When you eat — well, don’t eat a second serving, go read, or move around, or be more active,” he said.

“I haven’t eaten fried rice since June (last year)chips

Fox News Digital also asked Pompeo regarding healthier food options — for example, are there more fresh vegetables and fruits in his diet now?

“I did start eating things that I hadn’t eaten in a long time,” he said. “Mostly, I started to stay away from things that everyone knew you shouldn’t eat. For example, I like to frychips。」

“I can go for the best[food]. Now — well, I probably haven’t had French fries since June (last year),” he said.

When talking regarding the purpose of losing weight, Pompeo said that he wanted to feel better and hoped to be more energetic.

‘I just know I need to get healthier’

Pompeo had foot surgery in December and has yet to return to normal, posing challenges to his weight-loss and weight-maintaining plans.

“There’s no question that I’m burning fewer calories today than when I might get on an elliptical trainer,” he said.

“I knew it was possible that I might put on some weight back, and probably[has gained weight in the last few weeks]. But when I started doing that[lose weight]I wasn’t thinking regarding my target weight. I just knew I needed to get bigger. Health, that’s the mentality I hope I can keep for the rest of my life,” he said.

“But what I’m going to say is this: No matter what job a person does, these health issues are important,” Pompeo said. “I’ve traveled the world as secretary of state, and you have the physical and intellectual strength to take on what’s in front of you. mission, which is very important.”

He also explained, “These[weight loss and how to lose weight]are very personal issues. I ended up talking regarding them just because when my weight loss was so noticeable, it became a public issue.”

Pompeo has denied rumors that he lost weight through a specific diet or whether he underwent some kind of surgery.
