The Los Angeles Rams handed the Denver Broncos their heaviest loss of the season with a 14:51.
The towering man was running back Cam Akers, who rushed for 118 yards and three touchdowns. Quarterback Baker Mayfield threw for 230 yards and two touchdowns. Both touchdown passes were caught by Tyler Higbee.
The Rams have now won two of their last three games of the season. Before that, however, there was a misery with six defeats in a row. The reigning Super Bowl champion has an interim record of five wins and ten losses. There was no chance of the playoffs anyway.
The Broncos’ season is even worse, with a record of four wins and eleven losses. After beating the Arizona Cardinals a week ago to end a five-game losing streak, they were overwhelmed in Los Angeles.
The game was almost decided at half-time with an interim score of 31:6. Denver only got their first and only touchdown in the final quarter. Quarterback Russell Wilson delivered another disappointing game with three interceptions, otherwise threw for 214 yards and a touchdown.
ranExpert Volker Schenk says: “This isn’t the Russell Wilson we saw in Seattle. He seems completely broken in.” On the other hand, Mayfield had plenty of praise for his side: “Everything worked. Everyone did a great job.”
The Rams face the Los Angeles Chargers and Seattle Seahawks in the remaining two games of the season. The Broncos travel to the Kansas City Chiefs next Sunday before the season closes with a home game once morest the Chargers.
