(Seattle) Even before joining the West section of the National, Matthew Stafford felt that the rivalry is fierce between Seattle (2-2) and the Rams (3-1), who will cross swords Thursday.

His first direct experience of this confrontation, he will live it in a stadium where he has not yet signed a victory.

“We’re talking regarding two very proud and very successful clubs,” said Stafford. There is a good head coach on each side, with great results lately. That’s exciting. I look forward. »

Stafford most recently played in Seattle in January 2017, with Detroit losing 26-6 in the playoffs. His record there is 0-3, despite having a win over the Seahawks at Ford Field.

Stafford had an excellent start with the Rams: 1,222 passing yards and 11 touchdowns, with only two interceptions. He only suffered three sacks.

He looked worse on Sunday, though, in a 37-20 loss to the Cardinals.

“You can tell the coaches have a lot of confidence in him,” Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said. It’s obvious that they really like what he brings. »

Seattle snapped a two-game losing streak by beating San Francisco in California last Sunday.

Last January, the Rams handed the Northwest group their first home playoff loss in 16 years.

“We didn’t play very well overall that game,” Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson said. What matters to me is finding ways to win a match. This time it got away from us following they scored late. That said, let’s focus on the present instead. »

Part of the furniture of this section of the league too, Aaron Donald is at 13 career sacks at the expense of Wilson. He has a lot of respect for her, though.

“He’s a versatile playmaker,” Donald said. He makes it look like he’s acting like it’s a public park game, but he makes good decisions. He’s quite a player. He knows how to get out of trouble with his arm or his feet. »

In terms of efficiency on third downs, Rams and Seahawks are not alike at all. The Rams are second in the league, having converted 54.3% of those chances. As for the Seahawks, only three teams have a worse success rate than theirs, at 33.3%.
