Los Angeles Lakers interested in Bojan Bogdanovic, among others

The Utah Jazz sell-out isn’t over yet. After the trades for Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell, the Los Angeles Lakers might continue to use the Jazz. The Phoenix Suns are also interested in Bojan Bogdanovic.

Like Jeff Zilgitt from USA Today reported, the Lakers should deal with Bojan Bogdanovic, Mike Conley and Jordan Clarkson. However, the Lakers also want to keep cap space for the summer of 2023, which should make trades difficult for Conley and Clarkson.

Like Clarkson, Conley has a contract until 2024, while Bogdanovic’s deal expires in 2023. In the coming season, the Croatian will collect almost 20 million dollars.

In a trade, the Jazz would most likely have to include Russell Westbrook, since the Lakers have no contracts in Bogdanovic’s area. In return, other players such as Malik Beasley or Nickeil Alexander-Walker would also have to be involved. Utah would probably ask regarding the two available first-round picks from the Lakers (2027 and 2029).

The Phoenix Suns are also said to be interested in Bogdanovic. This is reported by John Gambadoro, who is well connected in Phoenix (Arizona Sports 98.7 FM). According to him, the Suns would have to give up several players as well as future picks to get their hands on Bogdanovic. The Suns all have their own picks, with Jae Crowder, Dario Saric, Cameron Johnson, Torrey Craig and Damion Lee all out of contract.

Bogdanovic might bring the Suns even more offense, the forward put up 18.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists at 45.5 percent from the field and almost 39 percent from distance in the previous season. The Croatian continues to be considered one of the best marksmen in the league.

The Suns ended the past regular season as the best team in the NBA, but were surprisingly eliminated in the second round of the playoffs by the Dallas Mavericks following seven games.
