The Los Angeles Lakers continue to prove to be perhaps the most active franchise this offseason in the NBA, to the point that they have once once more made contractual movements.
Journalist Shams Charania, from The Athletic, revealed that the Californian team renewed versatile forward Jarred Vanderbilt for another four seasons, in exchange for 48 million dollars.
Los Angeles Lakers forward Jarred Vanderbilt has agreed on a four-year, $48 million contract extension with the franchise, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul and agent Erika Ruiz told @TheAthletic @Stadium. Deal is fully guaranteed with a player option in the fourth year. pic.twitter.com/4kuLlt8zeT

Meanwhile, the aforementioned journeyman added that the last year of Vanderbilt’s pact with the Lakers is a player option, so the left-hander might declare himself a free agent during the summer of 2027.
The power forward arrived at the Crypto.com Arena last February, from the Utah Jazz and in the middle of a transaction between three currencies. In 26 regular round games with those led by Darvin Ham he scored 7.2 points on average, with 6.7 rebounds, 1.2 steals and a remarkable 52.9% shooting from the field.
Likewise, Vanderbilt ended up establishing itself as the No. 4 starter for the Los Angeles team in the playoffs, with LeBron James acting as a pure forward and Anthony Davis serving as a center.
Looking ahead to the 2023-2024 season, the Lakers also extended the contract to guard Austin Reaves and Japanese intern Rui Hachimura, as well as Davis himself, while they retained point guard D’Angelo Russell in free agency and hired point guard Gabe Vincent and forwards Cam Reddish and Taurean Prince, along with center Jaxson Hayes.
