LAS VEGAS — The Los Angeles Chargers selected Canadian Deane Leonard in the seventh round of the NFL Draft on Saturday.
The Chargers have set their sights on Leonard, a six-foot-one, 194-pound cornerback who played for Ole Miss University, with the 15th pick in the final round of the draft, the 236th pick overall.
A native of Calgary, Alta., Leonard is the second Canadian to be selected since the start of this draft.
Ontario wide receiver John Metchie III of the University of Alabama was selected in the second round, with the 44th overall pick, by the Houston Texans on Friday night.
