Loreto: citizen immobility decreed to control dengue cases in Yurimaguas

The right measure will allow the brigades to eliminate mosquito breeding sites and fumigation in homes

As part of the commitment of the authorities in the actions of the fight once morest dengue promoted by the Ministry of Health (Minsa), the Provincial Municipality of Alto Amazonas of the Loreto region decreed citizen immobility with the aim of promoting the participation of the population in the elimination of potential mosquito breeding grounds Temples of the Egyptianstransmitter of the disease.

The appropriate measure is carried out in coordination with the Alto Amazonas Health Network and the Santa Gema Hospital of the Regional Health Management (Geresa) Loreto.

“This is a wise measure to cut the transmission of dengue, since cases have tripled in Yurimaguas and in areas where there was no dengue before,” said the provincial mayor, Roy Saldaña Reyes.

The authority stressed that with the immobility it is sought that the neighbors are in their homes to support the health brigades so that they can collect the mosquito breeding sites and also the fumigation work carried out by the Health Network.

“I ask for the support of the citizenry for this initiative, since our management will articulate efforts to order, plan and reduce the dengue rate that exists in our jurisdiction,” said the mayor.

For his part, the director of the Health Network, Abdiel Arévalo Saavedra, highlighted that during the immobility intervention several objects with mosquito larvae were found. “We urge families to open their doors to us, as this action is everyone’s task.”

Finally, the director of the Santa Gema Hospital, Vicente Valentín Mariano, pointed out that a contingency plan is being carried out to guarantee medical attention to affected patients and ensure the availability of medicines and supplies.

“Anyone who has symptoms such as fever, headache or joint pain should go to the nearest health facility for immediate care. Our hospital is also open to provide care”, recommended the director, who also suggested not self-medicate with drugs that do not correspond as it can harm health.
