E3 said goodbye to the world of video games, at least for this year. However, the month of June will indeed remain the favorite period for gaming players to release their biggest announcements. It’s official, Microsoft will hold its own conference which replaces its participation in the E3 exhibition canceled for this year. Fans and owners of Xbox consoles will therefore be entitled to great announcements, trailers and new information in June, like every year. The date has already been announced. The appointment is fixed for the evening of June 11 from 7 p.m.
The choice of date is not trivial. The Xbox Games Showcase will be held one day after the big event announced by Ubisoft and three days after the Summer Game Fest. Microsoft intends to quickly oust these big dates in the gaming news by promising to talk about games without specifying which ones. Hollow Knight Silksong will certainly be among the titles presented. The publisher should also focus on the new features that will be offered on the Game Pass service, the success of which continues to grow.
A second live dedicated to Starfiled
Microsoft will release the big game. Immediately after the Xbox Games Showcase which will keep all gamers in suspense, a live second will reveal everything about Starfield to them. Absent during the big Xbox Showcase in January, the role-playing game will finally be entitled to its own live. It is still the biggest video game in the Xbox Series X console catalog of 2023. It also benefited from a nomination among the most anticipated video games of the year at the last Game Awards. Dedicating a whole live to the triple A game thus allows Microsoft to avoid overshadowing the smaller titles that will be presented during the showcase before.
The American giant also intends to capitalize on Starfield and make it a big game that really arouses interest among players. It will thus be able to make people forget Redfall which, only a few days after its release, already seems to be heading towards the monumental flop. Starfield will therefore be Xbox’s ultimate weapon in the battle of exclusives it is waging against the PlayStation 5 for this year.
