Lord – The Game Awards 2022: Elden Rign rafle tout

Thursday, December 8, 2022, the entire gaming community gathered to follow the highly anticipated evening of Game Awards 2022. Equivalent to the Oscars for video games, the ceremony was an opportunity to discover new announcements and the bulk of the program for the year 2023. But it especially rewarded the best video games of the last 12 months. Unsurprisingly Elden Ring stood out.

Elden Ring voted best game of the year

For many the coronation of Elden Rign is no longer a surprise. When it was launched at the start of the year, the title was a real hit with gamers. Better than the Souls said some, the title was destined to succeed. Moreover, it had already been named the most anticipated game during the previous edition of the ceremony. He now succeeds It Takes Two. His victory was expected despite the fact that opposite, there was A Plague Tale Requiem, Xenoblade Chronicles, Horizon Forbidden WestStray and on God of War Ragnarok.

In the process, the title of FromSoftware offered itself three other titles, namely the best artistic direction, the best RPG and the best Game Director. It was time for exultation at FromSoftware. But beware, Elden Ring is not the title that has returned with the most awards. This prestige was granted to God of War Ragnarok and therefore to PlayStation. Adulated, the latest installment in the video game series from Santa Monica Studios had already established some sales records.

At the Games Awards 2022, it was awarded the titles of best adventure game, best music, best accessibility, best sound design, best narration and best acting performance. A Plague Tale Requiem, Xenoblade Chronicles and Horizon Forbidden West are the big losers of the evening. Although they marked millions of gamers, the titles returned empty-handed. Stray can boast of being the best independent game of the year. It’s not nothing !!!

Bayonetta 3, Gran Turismo 7, Arcane and more

Other major video games released in recent months have also been named in The Game Awards 2022. Gran Turismo 7 was named best sports game while Bayonetta 3 offered the title of best action game to the delight of Nintendo. Splatoon 3, for its part, was awarded the title of best multiplayer game in place of It Takes Two. MultiVersus and Valorant were voted best fighting game and best esports game, respectively, while Ludwig was named the biggest content creator of the year.

Kirby is the Forgotten World, for its part, managed to rise as the best in the family game category. In the most anticipated game category, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom succeeds Elden Ring. Finally, Arcane was logically rewarded with the coronation of the best adaptation. There is something to encourage Netflix to continue to adapting video games to the small and big screen despite some flops that fans are quick to forget.
