Jupiler Pro LeagueSeraing and Standard shared the points at Le Piaray following a hotly contested neighbor duel, in which Christophe Lepoint escaped a dark red card in the final phase.
It was difficult to play football under rain and strong gusts of wind, so that really played opportunities remained rare. It was therefore no coincidence that both goals came on the board following deviating balls.
Seraing took the lead following fifteen minutes. Lepoint headed in a corner from Vagner, with the help of a deviation from Balikwisha and Laifis. After a Standard goal by Perica was ruled out for offside, the Rouches equalized within sight of the break. Fossey served Dönnum, who hit Opare’s outstretched leg.

After Lepoint’s nasty mistake, no more goals were scored and the Walloon derby ended 1-1. Due to the draw, Standard is provisionally in fifth place next to AA Gent, at the bottom, Seraing only approaches Zulte Waregem by one point.
