Absent from the field since January 2022 because of a knee that refuses to heal, Lonzo Ball will not play a single match this season. And unfortunately, there is a scenario in which he does not play next season either. Indeed, the leader of the Bulls will undergo a third operation if we believe the latest news.
We expected it, it is now a certainty.
According to the two most knowledgeable insiders in the NBA, Adrian Wojnarowski (ESPN) et Shams Charania (The Athletic), Lonzo Ball is going to have a third operation on his left knee, and might thus miss the entire 2023-24 campaign.
There are concerns regarding Ball’s ability to resume his career and hopes that this surgery — which might cost Ball another full season away — will give him a pathway to play once more, sources said. ESPN reported last week that Ball was weighing procedure. https://t.co/vjTLR8MBHq

Obviously, this is the kind of news that gives a shit, Bulls fan or not. The one who had an immediate impact on the Chicago team through his qualities as a playmaker, defender and shooter saw his career change when his meniscus tore in January 2022. After a first operation to keep him away from the field for six to eight weeks, he experienced pain during rehabilitation, so much so that a second pass on the pool table was necessary in September 2022. Unfortunately, these pains never disappeared, preventing Ball from ramping up to try and regain the grounds.
Thus a third operation is now planned, with the objective of allowing Ball to at least repress the NBA floors one day, and in the best of scenarios allow him to relaunch his career.
Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball will undergo a third surgery on his left knee that is expected to cost him most, if not all, of the 2023-24 season, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.
The sides are optimistic of the procedure reviving Ball’s career. ????????
