The Belgian ten-year interest rate oscillates around 2.57% on Tuesday, a drop of more than 8 basis points in one day. This year it was only lower than in mid-January (2,524).
A low interest rate makes borrowing cheaper and is therefore good news for the Treasury as well as for those wishing to buy a house.
At the beginning of October, the Belgian long-term interest rate stood at more than 3.6%, the highest level in more than eleven years. It then gradually declined.
