You may have seen it for yourself if you were at Brussels-Zaventem airport this morning: large queues took place around 9 a.m.
Contacted by the editorial staff of RTL Info, the airport gave explanations concerning these queues via its spokesperson, Nathalie Pierard. These queues were due to technical problems with the E-Gates, these computerized automatic scans.
No staffing issues or delays
“In addition to the fact that it is a busy day (75,000 people will set foot in the airport, departures and arrivals combined), there were indeed slowdowns and queues at the E-Gates and baggage check-ins. . The technical problem is slowly being resolved: if this morning, up to an hour of waiting might be expected, now the waits no longer exceed 15 minutes“, reassures the spokesperson.
Because of these faulty scans, the checks had to be run manually, which caused these queues. A technician came by in the morning and fixed the problem. These lines were not due to a problem of personnel, strike or delay.
