The “Long Night of Museums” once once more attracted thousands to the state’s museums this year. The most visited places in Styria were the state rooms in Schloss Eggenberg, the Kunsthaus Graz and the Museum of History.

From the military aviation museum in Zeltweg to the botanical garden in Graz to the brewery of the senses, from the postal and telegraph museum in Eisenerz to the crime museum and the Kunsthaus in Graz: it was a colorful hustle and bustle that also took place in 82 Styrian museums on Sunday night.

Gerhard Koch, Provincial Director of ORF Styria, emphasizes: “The ‘ORF Long Night of Museums’ is a highlight in the Austrian cultural calendar. Since the beginning of the ORF initiative in 2000, there has been the wonderful opportunity to discover art and cultural treasures at this event at a later hour and in an extraordinary atmosphere.” – and this year thousands of Styrians took advantage of this opportunity once more
“A Complete Success”
Around 630 museums, galleries and cultural institutions across Austria presented their collections and exhibitions – more on this in “Long Night of the Museums” great success (news.ORF.at). ORF Director General Roland Weißmann praises the success: “The ‘ORF – Long Night of Museums’ was a complete success in its 22nd year. With just one ticket, the price of which the ORF and its partners have not increased, visitors to the ‘Long Night’ were able to immerse themselves in Austria’s cultural landscape,” said Weißmann in a broadcast.
As the most important cultural platform, the ORF has once once more succeeded in bringing people closer to the country’s diverse art and culture, “which makes me particularly happy,” says the ORF Director General. “I would like to thank all the houses and institutions that opened their doors this year, as well as our sponsors and partners who contribute to the great success of the ‘Long Night’. I’m already looking forward to next year’s ‘ORF – Long Night of Museums’,” says Weißmann.
